| QUALIFYING CRITERIA |

The applicant is required to:
- be a Namibian citizen or a holder of a valid Namibian permanent
residence permit;
- conceive business initiatives for establishing a new business
or expanding/innovating/diversifying the existing businesses,
and to compile a bankable business plan for any of these;
- register the business organization formally, if it is not a
sole proprietor, with the Government business registering authority:
the Ministry of Trade and Industry;
- be ready to contribute 10% of the funding requirement from own
resources to equity capital;
- be committed to the business on a full time;
In addition the business operations should be able to meet
aspects of the definition of a small enterprise as described hereunder:
| Manufacturing businesses |
Business entities with less than 10 employees, less than N$2
million turnover per year and less than N$1 million capital
employed.

All other
businesses |
These are businesses with less than 5 employees, less than
N$1 million turnover per year, and less than N$500,000 capital
employed.
