TRUSTEES AND BOARD COMPOSITION

According to the SBCGT's constitution (Notarial Deed of the Trust), the following institutions are empowered to appoint Trustees:

Public sector
The Minister of Trade and Industry - 2 Trustees
The Minister of Finance - 1 Trustee
 
Private sector
The Chairperson of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) - 1 Trustee
The Chairperson of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) - 1 Trustee
The President of the Institute of Bankers in Namibia - 1 Trustee
The Lenders - 1 Trustee

At present, the Board of Trustees is composed as follows:

  • Mr. Ockert Cornelius Jooste, The Institute of Bankers in Namibia
    (Chairperson of the Board of Trustees).
  • Mr. Andrew Natangwe Paulus Ndishishi, Ministry of Trade and Industry
  • Mr. Stefanus Motinga, Ministry of Trade and Industry (Secretary)
  • Mr. Maru Tjihumino, Ministry of Finance
  • Mr. Veripi Kandenge, Joint Consultative Committee
  • Mr. George Martin, Bankers Association of Namibia (Lenders)
  • Mr. Navin Morar, Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Representatives of institutions linked to external contributors (German Government, European Union and Italian Government) like the German Embassy, GTZ, the EU office in Namibia and CISP can participate in the Board meetings as observers.
